  • What to do when the Box isn't working?
    After turning on the TalkFree Box, please wait for the blue indicator light to flash, which will indicate that the Box is properly working. This can take up to 20 seconds. If the light doesn't flash, please make sure all the cables are plugged in correctly.
    Is it normal that the indicator lights for a telephone line and an internet cable aren't lit up?
    As long as the blue and the power supply indicator lights are on, the Box is working properly.
    What should I do if I haven't received a verification call when changing the Box's ID number?
    Try to re-dial the number or go to our website and set it up from there. If you have any problems or simply want to know more, please visit our official website. For any further questions, don't hesitate to contact us at customer@freepp.com or call +886 3598 1104.
    Can I use a mobile phone number in place of TalkFree Box's ID number?
    Yes. It's just like using a landline number. Please follow these steps.

    Step 1: Set Up Your Country Code

    Please pick up the TalkFree Box phone and dial #31*00+ your Country Code #. Hang up the phone after hearing the voice instructions saying "Step 1 is completed" (For Example: USA Country Code is 01 , please dial #31*001#).

    Step 2: Set up Your Landline Number

    Please pick up the TalkFree Box phone and dial #32* Area Code+ your number #. Hang up the phone and wait for the notification call. (For Example: area code is 410, landline number is 3331234, please dial #32*4103331234#).

    Set up Your Mobile Number:

    Please pick up the TalkFree Box phone and dial #32* Mobile Number #. Hang up the phone and wait for the notification call.(For Example: mobile number is 415 123 1234, please dial #32*4151231234#).

    Step 3: Complete the Setup

    After you receive the notification call, please dial 01 and hang up. Congratulation! You have successfully completed changing the TalkFree Box's ID number. If you do not receive the notification call, it may be that you pressed the wrong number at Step 1 and/or Step 2. Please go through Step 1 and Step 2 again.
    Note: If you want to reset to a different country code/landline number/mobile number, please go through Step 1, Step2 and Step3 again.
    How can I make sure that my TalkFree Box is set up correctly?
    If you want to check your current setup, please follow these steps:
    (1)Find out what your country code is
    Please pick up the TalkFree Box phone and dial #*31#. The system will inform you of what your current country code is.
    (2)Find out what number is currently in use for your TalkFree Box
    Please pick up the TalkFree Box phone and dial #*32#. The system will inform you of what your current number is.
    How can I cancel the Talk Free Box's setup?
    (1)Cancel the country code you set up
    Please pick up the TalkFree Box phone and dial #*31#. Please hang up the phone after hearing "the country code setup is cancelled".
    (2)Cancel the number you set up
    Please pick up the TalkFree Box phone and dial #*32#. Please hang up the phone after hearing "the number setup is cancelled".
    (Note: If you want to restore the Talk Free Box to its original ID number setting, please cancel both the country code and the number you set up. This will automatically restore the Talk Free Box to its original ID number.)

  • How to make FreePP calls?
    (Note: FreePP services apply only to FreePP products like the FreePP App, Talk Free Box etc.)
    If you want to start using your changed number, make sure you have successfully completed the setup (Steps 1-3).
    After successfully completing the number change, feel free to dial the newly set up number directly.
    How can I call another TalkFree Box or FreePP App?
    When callers and the call recipients are using the same country code, callers can directly call the recipients' area code + number. Do not forget to include a country code and an area code when dialling a target number abroad. Also remember that there should be either "00" or "+" in front of a country code.

    User A uses Taiwan Country Code (886) and TalkFree Box number: 036006899
    User B uses China Country Code (86) and TalkFree Box number: 013143943166
    User C uses China Country Code (86) and TalkFree Box number: 013263943000
    User D uses Taiwan Country Code (886) and FreePP App number: 0925123456
    User E uses USA Country Code (1) and FreePP App number:07149148888
    User F uses USA Country Code (1) and TalkFree Box number: 4105551234
    When A calls B, please dial 008613143943166
    When A calls D, please dial 0925123456

    How to make Non-FreePP Calls?
    If you want to call non-FreePP users, make sure you have enough credit. Please go to the "Buy Credit" tab on top of the page and simply follow the steps. When using the same country code, dial <* + area code + landline/mobile number>.
    For example: When the call recipient's landline number is 03-598-1104 and mobile number is 0988-123-123, the caller dials *03-598-1104 or *0988-123-123. When calling abroad, please dial <* + 00 + country code + area code + landline/mobile number>. For example: When the call recipient's landline number is 03-598-1104 and mobile number is 0988-123-123, the caller dials *886-3-598-1104 or *886-988-123-123.
Use Problems
  • Why can't I reach toll-free numbers (e.g.: 0800)?
    Using a toll-free number is free for the calling party, because the telephone carrier charges the called party instead. Toll-free numbers are typically provided by local service providers to specific companies that cover the cost of the calls. For this reason FreePP does not support this service.
    Can I call from the first generation Box to the newer versions?
    No. The production of the first generation Box has ceased in 2010. If you would like to switch to a newer version of the Box for a discounted price, please visit our official website or contact us at customer@freepp.com or call +886 3598 1104.
